The regulations for access arrangements require us to maintain a file of evidence demonstrating that a candidate would be at a disadvantage without specific support. To ensure compliance, we ask that you provide relevant documentation showing a clear need for access arrangements.
Below is a list of exam board–approved types of evidence. You do not need to supply everything listed — only what you already have available. Our team can assist you in obtaining any additional evidence if required.
Please note: All documents must be originals — photocopies or digital copies cannot be accepted.
A previous Form 8 from your school or college
Any supporting reports from educators or tutors
Samples of written work completed within the centre
A mock exam paper completed under supervised conditions (either in the centre or online through our professional invigilation service).
An Individual Education Plan (IEP) or equivalent document stating the need for support
A current Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
A letter from a qualified professional confirming evidence of a disability
If the learner is younger than the equivalent of Year 9, access arrangements may not be granted. Approval is at the discretion of the awarding body and depends on the specific circumstances. Please note that providing reports or assessments does not guarantee approval.
Whilst we endeavour to support all candidates with Access Arrangement requirements, this is subject to exam board approval and cannot be guaranteed.
Exam bookings that require Access Arrangements are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, particularly where specific provisions such as individual rooms or word processors are required.
To avoid disappointment, please ensure all exam entries and supporting medical evidence are submitted well before the entry deadlines.
